Seven Lighted Candles

Candles can bring magic,
To a dark and soundless room,
A table set with lovely China,
And priceless Silver heirlooms.

A night planned for the woman of your dreams,
Her beauty shining through the light,
Of the lighted candles,
Shining ever so bright.

I chose this special evening,
To tell her how I feel,
And lighted seven candles,
So she'd know that it is real.

The number seven, a number of completion,
And our lives together would be forever,
And love and faith in each other,
Would be doubted never.

We rose up from our chairs,
Our shadows upon the wall,
Two lovers in a candle lit room,
Like two statues standing straight and tall.

As we danced and held each other,
And romantic music began to play,
We forgot about all else,
It ended as a perfect day.

As the candles flickered in the darkness,
It brought a warmth of love,
That never before we'd felt,
Like blessings from above.

I knew our love would have to last,
Too much alike were we,
A long and happy life together,
I knew it had to be.

This night would soon be over,
But many yet to come,
With kids and joys we'd never known,
While starting our own home.

Holidays, and family get to-gethers,
Vacation at get-away places,
Spending time on the beach,
Making friends, and seeing new faces.

We will always have our happy times.
Our honeymoon will last forever,
Not because there won't be difficult times,
But we'll get through them all together.

Tears and heartaches and troubled times,
Will only challenge our love,
And we'll be stronger than ever,
When ever those times come.
