A Gypsy's World

I live the life of a gypsy,
Always on the go,
My home is where I care to be,
And I live it all alone.

My world is somewhat different,
Than most I guess,
But it's the life I like,
I chose of all the rest.

I have my own home,
No one can take away,
And I live a simple life with dignity,
It's home wherever I stay.

I meet a lot of friendly folk,
And some are not so sweet,
But I've learned to accept the way they are,
The same as they do me.

All of our lives are different,
It's just the way it is,
We choose things for ourselves,
Whatever fits our needs.

I know a gypsy's life is not ideal,
But then I guess no one's is,
It fits my needs and I like my privacy,
I have no wife and have no kids.

Just a traveler on the road,
Like seven days a week,
But I see a lot in this old world,
Some might never see.

I don't have a schedule to keep,
And I work on my own time,
I pick up a job here and there,
And it fits my needs just fine.

So don't think of me,
As all alone and sad,
There's no one I have to please,
And no one getting mad.

So don't think for a minute,
That I'm unhappy and alone,
I have my own life,
And I like being at home.

I go when I want to
And stay home when I please,
No telephone ringing,
To wake me from my sleep.

My horse and I we get along,
No back talk at all from him,
We watch the sun together,
As the day begins to dim.
