A Wonderland Christmas

While standing at the window,
Staring at an Old Bois d Arc tree,
The white trunk all shed,
Of all its bark and leaves.

A beautiful picture,
Of an old ghostly tree,
Lost of all its color,
Yet beautiful to me.

Snow Flakes are dressing,
The limbs of the naked tree,
Adding a glittering covering,
A lovely sight to see.

As I watched the Winter storm,
And the chilling breezes blow,
I think how blessed we are,
To be safe and warm at home.

I’ll put another stick of wood,
On the red embers still aglow,
In the fireplace of our home,
As off to bed we go.

When morning finally dawns,
And we are awakened and arise,
The world has become a wonderland,
Right before our eyes.

There are Red Birds sitting,
Like blood drops in the snow,
For it is the Christmas Season,
And there’s a story to be told.

Children will be Caroling,
As they spread the Christmas cheer,
To Celebrate the Birth of the Christ Child,
This Special Time of the year.
