Best Pals
Me and my doggie,
The best of pals you see,
Where I am is where,
My furry pal will be.

He is my companion,
The days together we spend,
Running here and there,
Resting now and then.

He is the best at finding,
A rabbit to chase into a hole,
Sending a squirrel up a tree,
And digging up an ugly mole.

Across the field we run,
Grandpa we're going to meet,
He is plowing up peanuts,
We'll wash and boil to eat.

Daddy's driving in the yard,
We hurry and beg for a ride,
I climb in beside my Daddy,
With ole Buster at my side.

We have so much fun each day,
But Mama gets a little peeved,
When we wade in the creek and,
Muddy footprints on the floor leave.

I see little brother running,
'Round the corner of the house,
He wants to ride on Buster but,
It's a game of cat and mouse.

Another day is ending,
As the sun settles real low,
Dusk is fastly approaching,
Our energy has begun to slow.

Bath time has come and gone,
Buster dreams as he sleeps,
Tail brushing to and fro,
Like a shaggy broom it sweeps.

I lay down beside my pal,
Resting my head on his back,
Tomorrow we will go again,
Busy little pals making tracks.
