I Can Tell By Your Eyes

Oh, my, look and here what all I've found
Clinging tightly to the cliff,
Such a pretty, let me save you from
The waves so high and swift.

If I just hold my light up high
You will see, to surely find your way,
Oh dear, I don't know, are you needing help,
Or shall I turn and go away.

Oh my, but how the water's crashing so.
Are you cold, or really all content,
If you but say, can I come be
Your very special helper then.

Or are there lots of friends somewhere
Down 'mong dark and swirly caves,
Or might you be so awful lonesome,
Tossing there on ocean wave.

Oh dear, I just can't know you're happy,
Or all stranded, can you play and roll,
In wave and bubbly froth,
Oh, did I hear you softly call.

My, I wonder if you'd talk like me,
Can you sing or whisper, just a little bit,
I see your cheeks there flushing,
The little quiver on your lip.

Oh, if only I could get a better grip,
Lean some, reach you with my hand,
I'm sure you'd come with me
Such lovely things to understand.

Pretty, pretty, how I loves you so,
Can't you, won't you come with me today,
With your glowing hair and winsome smile,
I'd really like to play.

Please come, be safe and happy,
We'll run about, then one day fly
With Jesus, Oh, I know you'd love it, I can tell,
Yes, I can tell....just by your eyes.
