Christmas Blessings

A fire roaring in the fireplace,
Stockings hung from the shelf,
Candles shining ever brightly,
Waiting for dear Santa himself.

Christmas tree adorned beautifully,
Gold roping going all around,
Ornaments in different shapes,
A blinking star for its crown.

Chairs sit empty but inviting,
A rocking horse 'neath the tree,
Partially wrapped gifts so pretty,
Christmas Blessings for you and me.

The Wintery wind howls outside,
Sending chills deep to the bone,
Snow swirling in white circles,
Piling in banks where it's blown.

Children growing excited,
Waiting for Christmas Eve,
Listen to the Christmas Story,
Their little hearts do believe.

Each tells of a special Blessing,
Eyes dance as they speak,
Thankful for Mamas and Daddies,
Sweet voices ever so meek.

Excitement growing by the hour,
Lists of toys ready to be filled,
Goodies baking in the oven,
Festivities ready to thrill.

Settle down now my children,
Remember this is the special day,
We celebrate the Birth of Jesus,
The tiny Baby that lay in the hay.

Wise Men came to seek Him,
A Baby famous before His birth,
Bringing gifts to show their love,
Gold, Frankincense and Myrrh.

Yes we often tell the story,
This Day we must never forget,
Baby Jesus born in a stable is,
The best Christmas Blessing yet.
