Would You
Canter
Cloudless
Skies
If you could
mount your
silver pony
And gallop
far away,
Would you
ride across
the universe
In realms
of endless
day.

Would you
bolt from
all the trappings,
Forget all
that you are,
Flee wildly
from the memory
That grips
your tender
heart.

With rapture,
canter cloudless
skies,
Your spirit,
gasping breath,
Never pausing
to look back
To all you
might forget.

Dashing onward
to the future,
Unshackled
from the past,
Free to soar
on high,
A better life
to grasp.

Or, might
you choose
some memoirs,
As garland,
gracing throat,
Each treasured
joy, sweet
beauty,
The love that
brought you
hope.

Then ride....Devoid
of story,
All the chapters
that you are,
Stripped of
family history,
The wisdom
life imparts.
Could you
leave the
very essence
Of amazing
moments gleaned,
The fragrance
that now lingers,
Blossomed
from your
need.

Would you
tear the very
fabric
Of the garment
that you wear,
So carefully
stitched,
to rip,
Tatters streaming
in the air.

Would you
prance from
every shadow,
The clouds
that brought
Spring rain,
Revealing
pretty rainbows-
Teardrops
sparkling
from the pain.

Would you
forsake the
comfort
The touch
of gentle
hand,
That only
came in sorrow
From those
who understand.

Would you
lose the grip
on wonder,
Gleaned, when
you were ill,
Thoughtfulness
e'er gathered,
That from
the kilter,
spilt.

Would you
brush aside
the sunshine,
The miracle
of warmth,
Flamed by
chilling Winters,
Proclaimed
by darkest
storm.
Could you
part from
all the tumbling
That made
love's diamonds
shine,
The burning
of life's
dross
That only
left divine.

Or, would
you whirl
upon your
steed
With all that's
been perceived,
Your spirit
born to ride
anew
With heart
and soul complete.

The Sovereign
LORD is my
strength;
He makes my
feet like
the feet of
a deer,
He enables
me to go on
the heights.
Habakkuk 3:18-19
The LORD your
God is with
you,
He will take
great delight
in you,
He will quiet
you with his
love,
He will rejoice
over you with
singing."
...At that
time I will
gather you;
at that time
I will bring
you home.
Zephaniah
3: 17, 20
