Father's
Day Fun
Father’s Day is special,
We always have such
fun.
We go to the sandy beach
to play,
There’s lots of room
to run.

We make sand castles
in the sand,
And Dad enjoys lying
in the sun.
Running up and down
the beach,
That’s what I call fun.

I know it’s Father’s
Day,
But he enjoys it too.
We get to share some
quality time,
We don’t often get to
do.

He glows with joy to
be with me,
I walk behind him in
the sand,
But I could never fill
his footprints,
If you knew him you’d
understand.

My Dad’s the very best
I know,
At least he is to me.
He takes me to places
kids love,
Like beaches by the
sea.

I like to watch him
when he’s sleeping,
And think how great
a Dad to me,
And hope some day I
can be a Dad,
As special to my kids
as he.

He works hard to take
care of us,
But never does he complain.
We do get on his nerves
at times,
But he loves us just
the same.

When the day is over,
And we just sit and
rest,
I know he must be tired,
For I put him through
the test.

Mom comes in to snuggle
up,
And that completes our
day,
Dad on one side and
me the other,
We’re happier that way.
When bed time comes
and I get sleepy,
Dad takes me to my bed,
He reads my book to
me each night,
And strokes my wooly
head.

It feels so good to
know he’s there,
And I feel so safe and
warm.
I know that no one will
hurt me,
He’ll keep me safe from
harm.
I rest so good because
I know,
He’ll still be there
you see,
I’ll watch for him as
he comes home,
From my tree house he
built for me.

Not just any one can
do these things,
That my Dad has done
for me,
He’s one Dad in a million,
A big guy about six
three.

If I will do the things
he says,
I can grow tall and
strong,
But never will I ever
fill his shoes,
For that’s where he
belongs.
