Fragrance

We are only just a fragrance
From the ones we'll always love,
Just a misty waft between
In this life of unison.

We are a mere rose petal
So velvet soft, apart,
A memory, a dream
Of spring within our heart.

A picnic in the forest,
A whirl of pretty blooms,
Breathing beauty of our loved ones
By the fragrance they exude.

We're immersed in life by faith
With eyes that see beyond,
Beyond what here we feel,
We know where we belong.

We see each other's spirits,
Each other's souls we know,
We're looking past the tangible
To a love that loves us so.

It's relationship that keeps us,
Spirit joined is how we are,
We love the love in one another,
We love, but heart to heart.

We don't need eyes of Earth
To be close to those unseen,
For the ones we love so dearly
Are the ones we always keep.

And when we get to heaven,
No matter form, we'll all be,
Completely loved in Jesus
To be known and know, eternally.

There we'll be welcomed home
By our Saviour first of all,
Kept, beloved always-
Just through that fragrant door.
