Ghosts And Goblins

Tonight the spooks will be out again,
And I'll watch for witches traps,
They like to hide them from the kids,
In tall and dark brown grass.

On Halloween you see most everything,
Including cats with long pointed ears,
And rats with switchie tails,
That's been growing through the years.

It seems to me to be so strange,
How we like that scary and weird night,
But we are strange creatures too,
With curiosity to see witches in their flight.

The moon is in a haze tonight,
Which makes tonight especially dark,
But I won't stay around too long,
I'll just hang around the park.

There are spooky things there,
With a graveyard so close by,
You can see the ghosts as they rise at night,
As they escape their own grave-site.

The trees are starting to come alive,
With shadows all around,
I wish I hadn't come out,
And spent my time in Town.

The moon now shines through the trees,
The grass is all red and black,
The moon behind the clouds,
Has cast the weirdest site.

I've heard of ghosts that rise at night,
As witches stir their caldron until just right,
We don't know what's in the caldron,
But something that makes a wicked night.

If you go out on Halloween,
Stay away from grave sites,
Rats and cats will with be thirsting for blood,
And be out that very night.

Be sure and watch your step,
You never can be sure,
That a zombie where you're standing,
Won't suddenly appear.

I guess I'll just stay home,
Or maybe in the City,
To be so scared of ghosts and goblins,
To you might seem silly.

I've been trick or treating many times,
And have seen so many things,
I've never forgotten, the twinge of them,
Still lingering in my dreams.
