Home For The Holidays
I'll be home for the Holidays,
Be God's Will for me,
I've been gone a while in battle,
I'm looking for all to see.

I pray for a White Christmas,
Just like in the days all past,
Where all was well and we had fun,
Entertaining Christmas guests.

We'd all gather around the tree,
And each would add their voice,
Of all the Christmas's we'd shared,
To which had been their choice.

It is so wonderful to be at home,
And share this time with all.
We celebrate with friends and family,
But still we go when called.

Many won't be home for Christmas,
Separated by their call,
To go and serve their Country,
Serving to protect us all.

Some won't make it home for Christmas,
But we will not forget,
The joy we'll feel for others,
That will come home as of yet.

Christmas is a time of joy,
Of happiness and cheer,
A time to remember why we celebrate,
His Birthday every year.

The snow is white and pure,
Like the sinless Lord of all,
Cardinals sitting in the snow,
Like the Blood shed at His Call.

I remember when just a child,
The hills all covered with snow,
I'd wake up early as I could,
To play with kids I know.

Parents would make us apple cider,
And popcorn balls and snacks,
So when we took a break from play,
We'd stand by the fireplace to warm our backs.

Oh how good that felt to be inside,
But not for long you see,
We'd have a sled race already planned,
To see who the winner would be.

It's such a special time to celebrate,
When everyone's in his place,
When Christmas dinner is all set,
And we bow our heads for Grace.

We thank Thee Dear Lord,
And for the price You had to pay,
For pouring out Your Blessings,
That we might share our love this way.

Happy Birthday and Merry Christmas,
Baby Jesus born on Christmas Day,
No room in the Inn, laid in a manger,
A manger filled with hay.
