Love Letters
Long ago when I was young,
I had the most beautiful love,
And in the years we shared together,
Our time was lovely as a dove.

It is lonely now without her,
But I still can feel her near,
I read the love letters she wrote to me,
Although it brings me tears.

It brings back memories,
Of all the times we spent,
Just enjoying life together,
Every where we went.

It's like living our life all over,
Not a care do I feel,
When I am reading her letters,
It helps my heart to heal.

Just to hold her hand once more,
And to hold her in my arms,
Would be the thing I want most of all,
To feel her so soft and warm.

I know she's happy where she is,
And we will meet again,
For she still feels our love,
As though it just began.

I still write her love letters,
It makes me feel so close to her,
Although I never get an answer now,
It brings back memories how we were.

She loved getting flowers,
Yellow Roses to her were best,
I remember how she'd smile,
And clutch them to her breast.

You never forget the good things,
You experience in your life,
They are branded in your memories,
But that is what I like.

I can go back many years,
And live them over again.
I can see her golden hair,
But maybe not the same.

But still it satisfies my longing,
To see her once a gain.
I envision her white soft hand,
Still wearing her Wedding Band.

It never hurts to dream a little,
Of days of long ago.
Or write another love letter,
To express the love you know.
