~O
Holy
Night~
Still,
may
have
seemed
that
Holy
Night,
That
night
of
gentle
birth,
Hush,
may
have
sounded
silent,
That
eve
upon
the
Earth.

But
as
angels
gazed
and
pondered
The
loss
of
their
great
Lord,
What
power
there
unleashed,
unfurled
By
the
cry
of
God's
own
word.

How
moved
the
skies,
the
universe
Of
seraphim's
sweet
voice,
What
crescendo
echoed
Heaven
As
Jesus
made
that
choice.

To
abandon,
strip
aside
all
Glory,
Reduce
His
Throne
to
man,
How
thundered
there
the
chorus,
The
love
of
God's
dear
hand.

What
awakened
in
that
sleepy
stable,
That
unseen
barren
place,
The
first
rejection
of
the
Savior,
His
beauty,
wonder,
grace.

How
aroused
the
shepherds,
dozing
To
hearts
e'er
set
aflame,
By
angels
overwhelming
sky,
Why,
only
shepherds
came....

Where
were
the
millions
dreaming,
Missing
hosts
who
cried
on
high,
How
come
the
world
was
sleeping
When
God
was
born
to
die.

How
stirred
the
Wisemen's
hearts
To
read
on
history's
page,
To
long
so
for
a
Savior
That
from
lands
afar
they
came.

Why
traverse
heat
and
desert
For
two
long
years
to
find,
The
majesty,
the
sweetness
Redeemer,
God
Divine.

What
of
the
ruler
Herod
Bearing
hate
within
his
heart,
For
tender
little
one-
Display
such
fearsome
wrath.

Oh,
Heav'n
and
Earth
were
moving
That
peaceful
starry
night,
When
The
Lord
of
all
came
bringing
His
perfect
glorious
light.

The
God
of
Heaven
resounding
Good
will
and
peace
be
sent,
That
Holy
Night
exploded
...While
tiny
baby
slept...

"Praise
be
to
the
Lord,
the
God
of
Israel,
because
He
has
come
and
has
redeemed
His
people
to
enable
us
to
serve
Him
without
fear
in
holiness
and
righteousness
before
Him
all
our
days...
....to
give
His
people
the
knowledge
of
salvation
through
the
forgiveness
of
their
sins,
because
of
the
tender
mercy
of
our
God
by
which
the
rising
sun
will
come
to
us
from
heaven
to
shine
on
those
living
in
darkness
and
in
the
shadow
of
death,
to
guide
our
feet
into
the
path
of
peace."
Luke
1:68...79
An
angel
of
the
Lord
appeared
to
them,
and
the
glory
of
the
Lord
shone
around
them,
and
they
were
terrified
but
the
angel
said
to
them,
"Do
not
be
afraid.
I
bring
you
good
news
of
great
joy
that
will
be
for
all
the
people.
Today
in
the
town
of
David
a
Savior
has
been
born
to
you;
He
is
Christ
the
Lord.
This
will
be
a
sign
to
you:
You
will
find
a
baby
wrapped
in
cloths
and
lying
in
a
manger."
Suddenly
a
great
company
of
the
heavenly
host
appeared
with
the
angel,
praising
God
and
saying,
"Glory
to
God
in
the
highest,
and
on
earth
peace
to
men
on
whom
His
favor
rests."
Luke
2:9-14
