Room For Only One

While walking through the house,
I noticed this lovely dish.
I couldn't resist trying it out for size,
If only it were bigger was my wish.

I love the way it felt,
And made me look quite nice,
But where would baby kitty sit,
She's tried already twice.

I guess because I'm bigger,
I should take a chair,
And let her have the lovely dish,
I know that I should share.

After all, our kids come first,
And it should be that way,
She's such a tiny little thing,
And beautiful I must say.

I twisted and turned to make more room,
But that didn't help at all.
She tried as hard as she could,
But always took a fall.

We'll find a bigger dish I guess,
Where we both can fit inside.
I hope it will be as cozy,
And even half as nice.

A good time to let her have the dish,
Is when it's time to eat.
She will enjoy her time to cuddle up,
And that will be her special treat.

I know there's a fluffy pair of shoes,
A pair means there are two,
Warm and soft and lovely in the closet,
One for me and one for you.

Now there is room for both of us,
And sleeping side by side.
It's also the perfect place,
When we need a place to hide.

Way back in the darkness,
In the corner of the room,
Where no one would ever find us,
At least not very soon.

We can always climb up higher,
If we get bored down there.
The shelf above us would be fun,
Why...we could see most every where.

I don't know what's so fascinating,
About sitting way up high,
Just a thing with cats I guess,
To see all things as they go by.
