Picture For Mama
Mama wanted a pretty picture,
Me in my fancy new dress,
She wants to show it to friends,
They are sure to be impressed.

I have a very pretty Mama,
She is Oh so sweet too,
Loves me with all her heart,
Showing a Mama's love true.

She dresses me up in my new dress,
Hat with flowers all around,
Combs my thick curly hair then,
Sprays it until I think I'll drown.

I don't like the hair spray,
It makes my eyes burn,
Nose itches and I sneeze,
This stuff I will forever spurn.

I have the neatest white slippers,
In the picture they won't show,
When I walk around in them,
I feel like I just purely flow.

I know I look beautiful,
Mama has tears in her eyes,
Grownups are ever so funny,
When Mama is happy she cries.

Off to see the picture man,
He has many cameras there,
Makes a lot of pictures for,
Mama and me to share.

I have been very good,
Smiled and sat just right,
Mama loved the poses,
Chose the best one that night.

I will always remember the picture,
Made just for Mama and me,
She did not have much money,
But in the picture you don't see.

You see she saved and saved,
Things she needed done without,
I told her it does not matter,
She says that is not what it's about.

Now Mama has her picture,
She can show to all her friends,
I will forever remember the dress and,
The cost that Mama defends.

I have the very best Mama,
She loves me with all her heart,
She teaches me right from wrong,
From her teaching I'll never depart.

I love Mama so very much,
She is pretty and ever so sweet,
She works hard to support me,
She is the best Mama you'll ever meet.
