Pretty Brown Eyes

Sitting there all huddled together,
Looking hurt, sad, and lonely,
Peeking 'round at me lost and blue were,
Big pretty brown eyes only.

Love comes naturally to them God's,
Own puppies love ideally,
And they give all their love so freely,
Who wouldn't want them, really?

I wonder what they're thinking about?
How could anyone leave them,
Throwing out a puppy family?
Oh their chances are so slim.

Maybe these puppies ran just too far,
Playing and got lost but then,
Again I'd say not, they're all alone,
Here at night but how and when?

They were just dropped off in an unknown,
Land all alone when they had,
A home at least and what was done just,
Wasn't kind, no it was bad.

They look hungry and thirsty needing,
Someone to love, hold close, take,
Good care of them giving lots of love,
Not betray like this, forsake.

Big pretty brown eyes so sad and blue,
Begging for love and a home,
So lonesome out in a big field of,
Wild things to live in and roam.

Hiding from all noises, everything,
Scrounging for food, being warm,
Why can't somebody love us, they say,
Free us, this life's not the norm?

What will they do now but try to stay,
Together, hiding from wild,
Animals and angry people who,
Might hurt them becoming riled.

Pretty brown eyes wanting and needing,
Love, to be welcomed by who,
All by themselves out in the dark night,
Lonesome and blue, maybe you?
