Search Light
It may seem so very dark
Travelling onward in the night,
It may feel an endless journey
Without a guiding light.

It may seem a dreary passage
A constant staying on the track,
A being disciplined to train-
A never turning back...

The skies may show but shadow
The stars be out of sight,
The wind howl coldest fury
Within the constant flight.

The illusion may show no-one-
The ride, seem all alone,
But that is mere presumption
For there is more to know.

Closed doors, we may surmise
Are keeping us entrapped,
But, there's more than we imagine
To fill all that we lack.

It may sound like we're consumed
By clanging o'er and o'er,
But there's also peaceful silence
To fill our hearts with awe.

Wild, screaming thoughts, like daggers
May be dragging us along,
But, so very near is all we need
That we can lean upon.

The track both right and left
May menace violence,
But all around, we cannot see
Is THE omnipotence.

Life may look a small existence
But, if we glance above-
We'll see a brilliant glow
Surrounding us with love.

There may be scant imagine
That nothing grand's in sight,
But, always just above
There beams a searching light.

Revealing many secrets
If we believe, will see,
Awesome wonder, to unfold
Right through eternity.

Aye, our hearts may presume
It's a cold and barren life,
Travelling onto no-where...
When, 'tis a temporary night.

For it's merely an impression
Time is bolting that we cannot get,
As, forever is all kept,
By The One who conquered death.

And though we may suppose
That there is only fear,
Be assured, God's light, His loving Presence
Is ALWAYS, ever here.

Search light, dearest Jesus,
Keeping safe within the night,
All about, above, ahead, before
You hold me in Your light
