The Home of The Free

We celebrate July 4th as a Legal Holiday,
After the signing of the Declaration of,
Independence in 1776,
Declaring America her Independence,
But some turn away from the Stars and Stripes,
Showing their indifference.

It has the names of Independence Day,
And the 4th of July,
And was declared a Legal Holiday in 1941.
The Celebration still goes on with parades,
And family get to gethers in the sun.

We show our patriotism and love for Country,
While our Stars and Stripes are hung,
With our hands over our hearts,
When the National Anthem is played and sung.

You can feel patriotism in the air,
As soldiers are passing by,
Showing reverence to the Flag,
As pointed toward the sky.

We should always show reverence to our Flag,
For she is known as Old Glory,
Though some refuse to show respect,
And tell a different story.

True Americans love their Country,
And those who died to keep us free,
Will always be remembered,
For their stand and bravery.

Some have given their life for freedom,
Some have come home lame,
But still they are our heroes,
Regardless how they came.

Salute your Flag and with patriotism,
When doing so you see,
You are not only showing patriotism to the Flag,
But honoring all who fought to keep us free.

So when you see a battle lame soldier,
Just think how that came to be,
For he offered his life in battle,
To see that you were free.

Old Glory still flies with her Red, White, and Blue,
And people still honor her waving in the air,
Because true Americans love their Country,
And show they really care.
