Unicorn In The
Moonlight
While walking
late one afternoon,
Just after sunset,
I saw a magnificent
beauty,
One I'll never
forget.

The clouds were
scattered,
Throughout the
sky,
And made the sight
I saw,
Such a glowing
beauty to the
eye.

An animal once
thought,
Only to be a myth
they say,
Was lying right
in front of me,
It took my breath
away.

The moon was shining
through the broken
clouds,
Illuminating what
I saw,
A soft but ghostly
figure,
I watched in wonder
and in awe.

As I moved closer
I could see,
A lovely animal
before my eyes,
Muscular and strong
and a horn upon
his head,
With moonlight
shining from the
sky.

Curious, but a
bit afraid I guess,
Didn't know what
he'd do,
Not knowing if
I should go closer
to him,
I didn't have
a clue.

After all I'd
never seen a beast,
As big and lovely
as he,
But something
told me,
Just to let him
be.

The moonlight
shining on him,
Gave him a lovely
glow,
Almost a look
of warmness,
It seemed to even
show.

Lying on the ground
beside an old
brick castle,
Quite ghostly
in itself,
He looked at me
in such a way,
He'd rather that
I left.

The night was
warm with scattered
clouds,
And a moon as
bright as day,
I wanted to stay
and watch this
sight,
But knew I must
be on my way.

It was like this
was his castle,
His home in every
way,
Where did he come
from,
And why did he
decide to stay.

We each one have
our comfort zone,
And I think I
invaded his,
For I might be
as strange to
him,
And sure I wouldn't
be missed.
