~I Think We Shall Have Christmas~

Oh, dear friend, now what think you..
Shall we but have a Christmas yet,
No matter what befall our way
Shall Christmas time be blessed.

Though pay be low and money fall
The pantry bare to see,
Shall Christmas still be Christmas
A joy for you and me.

Though wind may blow and snow drifts form
And ice shore up the eaves,
Shall we e'er sing of Christmas love
And give to those in need.

When sorrow comes and fear descends,
With future's all unsure,
Might Christmas be so very welcome
With holly wreathes upon our door.

As forecasts loom, with doom and gloom
And petrol prices rise,
Let's rustle up more Christmas cheer
And bake some sweet surprise.

This year the family may not come
With travel costs too much,
But, we will ring and post our love
Reach out with caring touch.

If lights burn dim, the candle's low
And firewood's scarce to find,
Then with our hearts we'll warm the hearth
Join hands in praise Divine.

What clothes be thin, all tattered torn
We have so much to wear,
There's more to give this Christmas time
And endless love to share.

Night skies e'er dark and shadows stark
Are hovering 'round our soul,
But, friends are friends and always true
At Christmas time we know.

Though some seem stern, impassive, hard
From struggle in this life,
Our pillow's soft, our dreams are sweet
To sleep this Christmas night.

Old age may be the greatest trial
As years strip strength away,
Yet, loud the laughter, sweet the babes
Who joy in Christmas day.

And so our Christmas gladly comes
For Christ the Lord is born,
He came to die, so we can live
We couldn't want for more.

Poetry from the Heart

Come to the stable; it shines with His love,
And heavenly choirs are singing above.
Come to the stable, there's room for you too;
Come and behold Him whatever you do!
Come and adore Him this Christmas morn...
Come to the stable for Christ has been born!
