Winter Wonderland

It's Winter and we might be longing
To have that secret inner smile,
Yet, maybe it's too cold and bleak
And we're shivering all the while.

Wondering how we'll make it through
To survive, this Festive Time,
In the aching for relief,
For a Touch of the Divine.

As everywhere we look
There abounds such lovely things,
Decorations, tinsel
And bells that sweetly ring.

But, here, inside our heart
Echoes forth a sadder tone,
Something swept the Hope away
And we're feeling all alone.

Yet, here's the Special Miracle
Jesus came to meet our need,
He wants to live within our heart
For all we long to be.

If we seek and look on High
And turn to Him to find,
Then in Him, we'll overflow
With Wonder for all time.

When we come to understand
That the Joy is all in Him,
His Word then guarantees
The Peace we crave within.

Yes, as we put our Hope
In the Life He has to live,
We find the Wonderland in Winter
His love, the Wondrous Christmas Gift.
